What leisure activities look like? Like this of course...

Fun doubles when you share it.

Shared adventures create bonds.

And sometimes you outgrow yourself.

A feeling of happiness with three letters: Fun

Happiness

Group activities strengthen cohesion.

Each boarding school group is like a family in its own right. It consists of girls or boys of different ages and from different countries. And of course there are always new “family members” joining them. Great activities are planned throughout the year so that each group can grow together well. The group trips at the start of the school year are the best way to get to know each other better. But there are also other group evenings where everyone cooks together or goes on little excursions, such as bowling or to the swimming pool – just like you know it from your own family. And because you bond particularly well when you compete with others, there are always group competitions with lots of games, sport and, above all, lots of fun.

Our day pupils are of course part of the family.

Our day pupils are always welcome to take part in our leisure activities, as the class community also thrives on good teamwork. As there are always lots of day pupils in Year 5, these little Neubeureners also go on a trip to our Heuberghütte – in the middle of the countryside – at the start of the school year. There they can do archery, collect and chop wood and eat lots of delicious Kaiserschmarren.

Activities at the end of homecoming weeks

Every other weekend, our pupils are allowed to go home, but they don’t have to. And finally, there are many for whom travelling home is not worthwhile due to the distance. To ensure that everyone at the castle still has a great weekend, a team of mentors organises lots of exciting activities at the castle or in the surrounding area, which you can sign up for and also take the opportunity to get to know your fellow students from other groups.

Joint activities at the end of the boarding school weeks

This time with our students is very important to us in order to strengthen our sense of community. After a special weekend brunch on Sunday, everyone looks forward to a day out with their friends. Nature, culture and lots of sporting activities are on the day’s programme.
On Saturday evening, there is usually an evening music and dance event. There are also themed weekends, such as our cultural weekend, where you can sign up for one of many creative workshops and try out new things. In our “talent show” – a fun competition, you can show everyone what you’re made of.

Boarding school excursions - out of the castle for a change!

Our region has a lot to offer – in terms of nature, but of course there are also many traditional events. This is especially nice in winter, when the many Christmas markets take place or you can swarm out to the nearby slopes for night skiing and tobogganing. Of course, this also makes you hungry and what could be nicer than going out for pizza with so many friends?

The event classics

Organised by guild leaders, sports teachers, the mentor team or the SMV, there are a few dates in the calendar that everyone looks forward to every year. It starts with the joint trip to IKEA to buy a few accessories for the newly furnished room. But the big karaoke show followed by a party has also long been a classic – this is where the ice is broken and firm friendships are forged. Many internal tournaments such as football, dodgeball and the annual charity run are just as popular as the boarding school Olympics – great competitions with other boarding schools from the region.

School disco and bar evenings always put everyone in a good mood.

It can also be spontaneous. The Schloss-Bar is located in the basement and offers a real club atmosphere, which particularly appeals to the sixth form – the Bar Guild team comes up with some cool drinks to go with it.

Café EDEN -
"Chill in n' Out"

Café EDEN also often organises disco evenings as well as themed evenings with burgers and table football or chess tournaments. Everything is possible here.
A room with a large cinema screen and a dance floor and a bar in the adjoining room, with a pizza oven and cosy seating areas, make EDEN a popular attraction during the week too. On warm summer nights, you can also dance and chill out in front of the EDEN.
